About “Holly Day Farms”
Holly Day Farms is located about 40 minutes outside Uptown Charlotte, making it a great spot to escape out of the city for an afternoon! The farm is run by Holly, who purchased the property in 2020 during the pandemic. As an event planner, she decided this was the time to act on her dream and by her own land that could be turned into a venue.
Currently, this farm is open on weekends for catch-and-release fishing. Holly and her team host many different types of fishing tournaments over the year and it’s become a local favorite.
Private Dinner Date Experience at “Holly Day Farms”
This private dinner date is one that you and your significant other will remember for the rest of your life! It’s truly romantic having dinner inside a beautiful gazebo surrounded by a 2-acre pond and the sunset across the field.
The best part? You have it all to yourself! You don’t have to worry about a server interrupting your intimate conversation or a crying baby that is sitting at the table next to you because you have the entire place to yourself.

Dinner Date on a Farm Setup
Holly and her team do a phenomenal job of preparing everything and anything you might need to make this date perfect. Bouquet of flowers, music, personal fans, beautiful table cloths, cushions, and a stunning place setting. All you have to do is show up! Not to mention, the bouquet is something you get to take home at the end of the night!
They currently offer 3 different locations to dine at – the gazebo, the island in the pond, or by the swinging bench. Each setup is unique and beautifully designed (pictures featured on their site here). I personally chose the gazebo and loved it (perfect spot if it started to rain).
Dinner Date Food
I cannot say enough AMAZING things about the food! This four-course meal was one of my absolute favorite meals I’ve ever had. Before arriving, you’ll receive a menu to select options from. You have your choice of salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert! Since this is a private date, everything was stored in coolers by the gazebo and we could help ourselves to the food as we pleased. This was nice because we weren’t being paced by a restaurant or server and could eat at our own speed.
We chose (1) caesar salad and (1) garden salad for our first course – both were phenomenal. For our appetizer, we selected bruschetta which complimented the salads nicely. For our main course, I selected salmon paired with couscous & veggies, while my boyfriend selected steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The food was mouthwateringly food. Given that this is more of a picnic-style dinner, it was closer to room temperature than hot. That being said, this food made the top of my list for best meals even at room temperature.
Finally, for dessert, we selected a small cake with “Happy 28th Birthday” written on top! Any good date is not complete without dessert so this was a perfect touch to an already amazing dinner. There were other options to select from if cake isn’t your personal favorite though!
Dinner included a bottle of red or white wine or champagne. They even provided us with a bottle stopper if we opted to take home the rest of the wine. When I say they thought of everything, I mean they TRULY thought of everything.
Fishing at “Holly Day Farms”
This date is so much more than just dinner because you can also fish for free! As I mentioned earlier, Holly Day Farms is set up for catch-and-release fishing on the weekends. She opens the pond up for her date nights to also experience this together.
This farm is home to a variety of fish: green sunfish, white crappie, largemouth bass, brim,
She will provide you with fishing rods and bait (or you can bring your own). It’s a fun activity to experience with your significant other. Plus, it’s always enjoyable to add an activity to any date night.
I personally haven’t fished since I was a little kid, so it was so fun to share that moment with my boyfriend as he taught me tips and tricks on how to catch the biggest fish.
