Charlotte, NC is popping up with breweries left and right! This is both a good thing and a bad thing… you’ve got plenty of options to try but it can be completely overwhelming to narrow it down and pick one to visit. That’s why I’ve created a guide to the best breweries in Charlotte, NC! The top three are the breweries you definitely won’t want to miss in Charlotte! The others are fan favorites that are also guaranteed to please!

1. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB)

South End

Old Mecklenburg Brewery is the oldest microbrewery in Charlotte NC and definitely one of the best breweries in Charlotte. This German inspired brewery will make you feel like you’ve transported to Dusseldorf. There is a Brauhaus (inside brewery) and Biergarten (large outdoor area). Be sure to check out their events calendar because they usually have fun festivals or activities in their Biergarten.

  • Most Popular Beer? Captain Jack
  • Do They Sell Food? Yes! (All German inspired – their pretzels are amazing)
  • Are they near the LightRail? Yes! About a five minute walk from Scaleybark Station

2. Sycamore Brewery

South End

Sycamore is a Friday night staple for locals. Every Friday, Sycamore brings half a dozen food trucks onsite for “Food Truck Friday”. Pair that with good music and great beer and you’ve got yourself a perfect Friday evening. Sycamore features a huge outdoor area with only a small inside location (making it inconvenient for rainy days).

  • Most Popular Beer? Southern Girl
  • Do They Sell Food? No, but they usually have food trucks
  • Are they near the LightRail? Yes, it is directly on the LightRail!

3. Suffolk Punch / Hyde Brewery

South End
