Top 5 BEST Things To Do In Midway, Utah

Midway, Utah is a great town to spend a full day exploring! I was surprised to find out about all of the fun and unique things to do in Midway, Utah! It’s located just outside of Park City (about 10 miles) and roughly 40 miles from Salt Lake City. I love Midway because it is less “touristy’ and “crowded” than some of the more popular towns in Utah – it really gives you a charming small town feel!

Below is a list of my favorite things to do in Midway, Utah!

Homestead Crater Hot Springs

Did you know you can explore the only warm water scuba diving destination in the continental US here in Utah?! This natural hot springs crater in Midway, Utah is over 10,000 years old and features warm mineral water that is consistently between 90 to 96 degrees. Its by far one of the most unique things to do in Midway – and something you can do year-round!

To experience the Homestead Crater hot springs, you’ll need to reserve a spot in advance. The best way to book is to email or call the crater directly (435-657-3840). They’ll give you the availability and reserve your spot. Then, you’ll pay the entrance fee upon arrival (under $20 for 1 hour). You’ll have access to small lockers and changing rooms. Life jackets are provided and required when in the water. You’ll be allowed to swim for roughly 50 minutes.

Ice Castles

The Ice Castles are a seasonal activity that is only offered in the winter months (typically December to February). This fairytale winter wonderland is a great activity for families or couples who want to stroll through thousands of icicles, ice-carved tunnels, and snow sculptures. This manmade castle is created yearly.

It’s also located in the same parking lot as the Homestead Crater making it a great activity to pair together.
