10 Amazing Things To Do in Park City, Utah (Other than Skiing)
When you think Park City, Utah there is a good chance you’re thinking about skiing and snowboarding. Park City is a great place for winter sports. BUT, there is also so much more that Park City offers. As someone who doesn’t ski or snowboard, I instantly fell in love with Park City! I’m sharing my favorite things to do in Park City, Utah other than skiing.
First, a little bit about Park City, Utah…
This city is located about 40 miles away from Salt Lake City, Utah! It’s known for a variety of things: excellent ski resorts, annual Sundance Festival, and 2002 Olympic history. It is a top destination for skiers and snowboarders during the winter, but also offers a great variety of activities in the summer too!
Walk Along Historic Main Street
You’ll fall in love with the adorable Historic Main Street in Park City. Here you’ll find over 100 boutiques, 50 restaurants and bars, and tons of outdoor adventure companies – in other words, there is something here for everyone! I wish I had spent more time exploring the various shops and restaurants because each one was unique and fun! There’s a reason it’s at the top of the list of things to do in Park City, Utah – it’s definitely something you can’t miss!
Experience Après-Ski
Who said you needed to ski in order to take part in Apres-Ski?! If you don’t know what Apres-Ski means it is literally translated to: the social activities and entertainment following a day’s skiing. I personally love this tradition and I love that Park City has so many amazing places to drink and “apres-ski”. Here are some of the favorite places to try:
- No Name Saloon at Park City Main Street
- EBS Lounge at Deer Valley
- Umbrella Bar at Canyons Village
Try a New Outdoor Activity
Skiing and snowboarding aren’t the only winter activities you can do here in Park City. In fact, there are TONS of other options available. Check out All Seasons Adventures for guided tours of outdoor activities in the summer or winter!
I personally opted to try snowshoeing and loved it – we hiked through a mountain trail among the alpine trees. It was truly so stunning. Snowshoeing was a lot easier than I expected… if you can walk, you can snowshoe!

Visit the Egyptian Theater
Each and every January, the Sundance Festival is held here in Park City, Utah at the Egyptian Theatre! This theatre dates back to 1922 – the architecture was heavily influenced by the discovery of King Tutt’s tomb in 1922. This is why you’ll find so many hieroglyphics, lotus leaves, and scarabs in the architecture and design. When the Sundance Festival is not taking place, this theater is home to comedy shows, movies, and films!
High West Distillery
A trip to Park City is not complete without visiting the famous High West Distillery! High West is known for its whiskeys and vodkas which you can sample here in the saloon. You can also dine here where they feature a variety of tapas-inspired options!
Alpine Coaster
The Alpine Coaster is the largest coaster of its kind in Utah so it’s definitely worth a visit! The coaster can reach speeds of up to 25mph as it is gravity-driven through bends, curves, and more. Don’t fret though – the rider controls the speed of the coaster by applying brakes as needed. While riding the coaster, you’ll be able to see the scenic aspens and gorgeous mountain views.
This is one of the things to do in Park City, Utah that is only available during the summer months so definitely take advantage of this experience if you’re visiting in May-August!
Park City Museum
Learn more about the history of Park City, Utah by visiting the Park City Museum in Historic Main Street. Some of the most popular exhibits include the Mega Mine, Park City’s Dungeon Jail, and the Skier Subway Theatre. Tickets are $15/adult and the museum is open Wednesday-Sunday.
Spa Day
Experience some of the best spas in the country here in Park City. They might be veryyyy pricey, but they’re definitely worth it! Some of the best spas are listed below:

- The Remède Spa at The St. Regis Deer Valley
- Waldorf Astoria Spa
Road Trip to Midway, Utah
Midway, Utah is about a 20-30 minute drive away from Park City and offers so much to explore! Here you can experience a hot spring crater, ice castles, a historic cheese farm, and more! It’s definitely worth a half-day or full-day excursion!

Utah is so gorgeous in the winter! I went to Salt Lake last year and would love to visit Park City soon.
My boyfriend is moving to the area and is excited about skiing. I don’t ski or snowboard either so I am glad to hear there are other things to do in Park City. The alpine coaster looks like a lot of fun. I have never tried one of those before. I would like checking out the main street and city museum too.
